Course Profile:
Think4Purpose aims to improve Critical, Systems and Social Thinking for creatives working in user-centric Digital companies.
Unconscious bias can be misunderstood and can’t be measured with any valid instrument. There is always a danger of over-politicising the workplace. We need to guard against this, get the balance right and promote good social intelligence instead of ideologies, promoting cognitive bias in the fight against unconscious bias.
Learning Outcomes:
- Familiarises creatives with cognitive tools that enable logical coherence and contextually-appropriate decisions
- Boosts collective thinking skills for a multi-cultural and neuro-diverse workplace
- Improves executive control, conscious learning and control of cognitive bias.
Course Content:
Empathy is a central tenet of creative design. Think4Purpose has designed an integrative programme that supports creatives to improve their critical thinking skills and apply these in the VUCA age (characterised as – Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous). To perform well, creatives need to be self-organising, agile in their thinking and able to learn reflectively to work well in diverse groups.
This course helps develop creatives to apply mindfulness and make the novel distinctions needed for fit-for-purpose product and solution. The course applies Problem Based Learning using the Miro collaborative tool and is highly interactive.
The Think4Purpose principles and course structure focus on the following
1. Reason (Critical thinking),
2. Rigour (Contextual Awareness),
3. Respect (Cognitive Diversity) and
4. Resilience (Self-Control)
