The Case For Augmented Reality

In the last 3 years, 75% of organisations have started a connected worker programme using Augmented Reality.

This workshops will help participants understand the technology and explore how they can harness the power of AR in their own situations, for training, real-time data collection and performing or auditing processes and procedures.

Goal:

A deep-dive into the potential of Augmented Reality and Smart Glasses for training. Overview: The workshop, which includes a review of the technology and current trends and provides a detailed deep-dive into how Augmented Reality and Smart Glasses can be used to provide a more immersive and effective experience. It results in a more memorable experience for the worker, leading to a higher rate of knowledge retention and better outcomes. The digital technology can also be used to generate better records of training completion rates.

Course Content:

  • Review of technologies, hardware and their differences
  • Types of training solutions possible
  • Video and case study-based examples and demonstrations
  • Development of content
  • Collection of training data
  • How to identify a suitable project and team for a pilot project
  • Getting management and team buy-in for the project
  • Tips for implementing a project during times of travel restrictions
  • 1:1 Hr long consultation on request at a date TBD with trainer.

Anyone interested in learning more about the technology and how it could be applied to their business. Professionals with an interest in maximising the effectiveness of the training provided by their organisations using the most innovative technologies available. It is advised participants have a basic understanding of Augmented Reality.

Note: No hardware is required to participate in this workshop.


Patrick Liddy is a qualified Electrical Engineer BEng, CEM, MIEI from UCD, Dublin and holds a diploma in Business from DIT, Dublin. He brought innovation to the electricity market by founding Activation Energy, an energy efficiency software platform working with large energy users, and following an acquisition by Nasdaq listed EnerNOC in 2014, led the company to be the largest Demand Response company both in the Ireland and the UK.

Patrick is the founder of UtilityAR, a well-known innovation leader working with over 80 businesses to help them engage with and integrate Augmented Reality Smart Glasses and related technologies into their businesses.

IMPORTANT: Places are open to Irish based companies and sole traders only. Companies and sole traders outside the ROI do not qualify for the Immersive Technologies Skillnet subsidised workshop.

There is a 7 day cancellation policy in place. Fees cannot be refunded if places are cancelled inside of the 7 day period prior to the commencement date (but can be transferred to another participant up to 24hrs in advance of commencement date).
